Has it been 10 years already?

About this time 10 years ago, I was tossing and turning in bed. I couldn’t sleep because in a few hours, I was going to be… to be… A HUSBAND!!! I was excited about moving on in the Great Circle of Life, but scared at the same time. Will I be a good husband? Will I be a good provider? Will I still be able to be me? A lot of questions popped in my head. The one thing forgot to remind myself is that I’m going to start a new chapter in my life with the absolute best person possible, my best friend. I know that it sounds cliche, but many people say that your best friend is someone who will laugh with you, cry with you, be normal with you, be crazy with you, explore the world with you, and just sit around and do nothing with you. Your best friend has seen you at your best (and your worst), but no matter what the circumstances, your best friend is proud of you and proud to be at your side. Your best friend will push you to reach for the top shelf, but will also catch you when you might fall. If this doesn’t describe my ‘Nala’… Jennifer Lynn….

Jennifer, the past ten years have seemed like minutes to me. Despite our ups and downs, this ride has been a lot more fun because you’ve been on it. Let’s stay on this ride as long as we can…

I love you, my cheeky monkey! I guess Joshua Kadison was right when he said…

  • Congrats Ray and you too Jennifer! So is it 10 years today? October 12th?

We just celebrated 10 back in August!

  • Jessica

That is beautiful. Congratulations Ray and Jennifer! I wish you the best of many more great years to come.

  • Congratulations! Wishing you the best for many more years.

  • Very touching Ray. Congratulations to you both…Oh darn… where’s I put the tissues?

  • Tawnya

Congratulations! I have something for you that I picked up while we were in Florida! Now we have to get together!

  • WOOT!!!
Congratulations on the first 10 my friend.

–Be careful though, too many “sweetie” posts can get your man-club card revoked.

  • Ray,
How the heck are you? Are you wondering who I am or do you recognize the name? I’m from Cabrini and U of M … many moons ago it seems. Last time I talked to you was certainly 1993 or earlier.

Congrats on the marriage. When I read your post, I thought to myself, “He has not changed a bit.” (this is a compliment) I am married too and have a three-year-old daughter and a baby on the way. Drop me a line if you get a chance.
