It’s over…time to really MOVE ON!

OK, John Kerry fought a hard battle with President George W. Bush. The people have decided. Kerry conceded. Time to move on.

Let’s start to work together. Enough ‘Doom and Gloom’ for me. Time to look forward to a positive future.

I purposely did NOT make any sort of indication on how I voted in this election. Many people who know me believe they know how I voted, and to them I say this… I never like to be predictable, so if you think I voted Republican or Democrat or Libertarian, you’re right! Just keep thinking what you do about me. Keep thinking you know how I think. Now that we have that solved…

…LET’S MOVE ON!!!

ELECTION DAY 2004: GO VOTE!!!

My father was a soldier in World War 2. Even though he didn’t see any action overseas, many of his friends did. The men back then had the guts to fight for our country…no questions asked. I realized early in my life that I want the best fighting force in the world defending me…and I wasn’t it. I had no intention to enlist, not because I was scared, but because there were (and are) better soldiers out there than me. I feel that in any organization, you want the best at the top, and the soldiers we have are it…the best! I guess in my case, Groucho Marx said it best, “I don’t want to belong to any club that will accept me as a member.

I bring all of this up because today is Election Day. No matter what you are doing today, take some time out to vote! It is not your right…it is your responsibility! No ‘Vote or Die’ crap. No ‘Vote Bush’ crap. No ‘Vote Kerry’ crap. No ‘Vote Badnarik’ crap. (Who? He’s the Libertarian candidate.) None of that here…. I want F.O.P.’s (Friends of the Pridelands) out there to VOTE…JUST DO IT!

While I’m talking soldiers…a ‘shout out’ to Christopher McDaniel (Air Force), Josh McDermott (Army) and Michael Henn (Army?). Thanks for defending my family and my country’s interests!

Happy Birthday Bruce Hopkins, the Legend Killer!

Happy Birthday goes out to one of my best friends, Bruce Hopkins, who celebrated his birthday on Saturday. Jennifer, Kiara and I took him out to Frankenmuth, Michigan, to spend the day. While there, who does he bump into but WWE Superstar Rhyno. Here is a picture of Bruce and Rhyno:

If you want to know more about Rhyno, check out his bio here. If you want to know more about Bruce, you’ll have to wait a few years when he runs for President of the United States.

Happy Birthday, bro!

Great DJ Website (and Great DJ)!

I just found a website for anyone that’s interested in hiring a disc jockey (DJ) for any event. As it turns out, I know this guy and HE ROCKS! He’s one of the most pleasant and entertaining guys I have ever met. He is a true professional, and can be classy or crazy as the event calls him to be. I’m mentioning this not as an ad for him (even though you can’t go wrong with him), but because he has put out there a TON of information on what to look for when hiring a DJ, what to look at before signing the contract, general advice, price guidelines, etc.. Really good stuff! Check out DJ MADMAN MIKE now!

Bilyk’s Pride hits a Milestone!

Happy Anniversary to Bilyk’s Pride!
On October 21st, 2003 at 4:31PM EST, I made my first post on this blog. I knew it was coming up, but I didn’t know when.

I wrote in my first entry:
I made this website out of a need to communicate with others.  This site will be home to many different things…pictures, stories, information…about myself and my family.  I hope that you come back often, as I am changing this site almost constantly.

One year later, some ideas have changed. Yes, I still write this mostly about myself and my ‘pride’, but now I add in some Lotus/Domino and other technology items as well as some current events. One thing I guess I didn’t keep to is the ‘changing this site’ thing. Now would be a good time to come up with some New Blog Year’s resolutions.
First, I resolve to make at least one change in my blog a month.
Second, I resolve to blog at least every other day.
Finally, I resolve to have a ‘real’ URL within the next year.

Here’s to me keep these resolutions better than the January 1st ones…
